Tips & Tricks

Being born in a family where our culture is to study hard, get a good job and then become someone who is respected academically, it has been hard for me to grow my business, myself and even for me to keep pushing myself on. Entrepreneurs like me are never respected over where I am…

My parents never wanted me to be an internet marketer…because they think even a low-paying attorney or a failing engineer can do so much better than me. Living in a family without positivity has been the toughest obstacle in my life.

My point is that, if you really want to do something, JUST DO IT. Don’t let other people stop you. Do what your heart tells you. If you fail at certain point, I want you to keep going. At some point, you will see success and that’s when you can overpower success.

Now, I’m not a self-help guy but being from a really traditional family and society, the SOCIETY failed to shape me into because I believe in myself, I believe in my heart and I do what my heart tells me…

I may not be the most successful internet marketer…but I am on my way to it. And every single time negative people surround my mind with negativity, I will remind myself to keep going…

And this video will tell more…

    Hey Desmond,

Thanks for your frank and personal words. Yup, as a fellow IM’er from Malaysia (Chinese also), I know EXACTLY how you feel.

I am putting into action your Mini Launch methods in a rather obscure niche. Will let you know my results in a few weeks. I too have to tell myself not to give up when the going gets tough.

BTW, I have watched the entire movie from which your video comes and it’s a terrific movie entitled, ‘Facing the Giants’.

    Take care, bro!

Yeah I watched the movie when I was young.

Very inspiring movie and good luck with your mini-launch.

    Desmond,
This was very inspiring! I had seen this a while ago however I was fresh in the game excited, well I have been doing this now for about 6months and had no success as of yet. To the point of giving up, bills out the wazzo…investing in all these different products that promise you all and still nothing. I was at the point of giving up….after seeing this again though It has a whole new meaning….I thank you for sending me this via email, you have really helped me out today!!!

    Sincerely,

    David

ps…not sure if its because of my situation or what however I was also moved to tears.

It’s my job as a newsletter provider to provide excellent content.

I’m just doing my job. :-)

Well, Desmond. You missed the most important part of this. To not give up, you need encouragements! Brock did it because his coach pushed, shouted, encouraged, forced him to do it with his support. That’s the most important thing to make someone successful.

I’ve tried Internet Marketing for almost 2 years now. But I don’t even have a consistent income. Not even $10. Maybe I really lack of support.

    Hey Joseph,

What you need to do is retrace your steps and ask yourself if you are doing everything correctly.

Then find someone to travel the journey to success with you.

I am very lucky to find like-minded people like my partners to walk through everything with me.

    Hope this helps. :)

I can’t never be any more lucky if I’m one of your friend and have you teaching me Internet Marketing. I’m also Malaysian staying in Selayang.

    Desmond Reply:

Not sure if I can teach you personally but we sure can hang out.

I’m gonna move to US in August though. :)

  5. Joseph Ting Says:

LoL… Hang out huh? I rarely go out meeting people. Even close friends. =P
Actually, I already knew a lot of stuff about Internet Marketing. I just need someone to guide me and tell me what to do. I often get lost and don’t know what’s the next step. =\

    Wow! Moving to US? Migrating?
That’s so cool! Which part of US?

Good share Desmond. Joseph, Des just gave you an opportunity and your just threw it away.

I don’t think your problem is needing someone to coach you although every successful person has a coach.

Do what Desmond says retrace your steps. I am sure in those 2 years you found something that worked. Go back that do that again and focus on it and scale it up.

    Gavin

Retracing steps might sound like a deadly move…but sometimes, it keeps you focus. :-)

BTW, not EVERY successful person has a coach. If you don’t have one, jsut move on. Don’t wait for him to come.

Good post Desmond. I’m also an upcoming Internet marketer.. My partner and I recently quit our jobs to go full time online. We’re not in the product launch yet, mainly focusing on SEO and site creation on a large scale. My family supports me, but they just don’t really understand how making money online works. I know how you feel. Skype me sometime – brink2012

You are right Desmond, we should not too easy to fall to the words of “give up”. What ever the failures you experienced, it would be a whip to step foward. is’nt it right? It sound too easy to talk about but very hard to accomplish. I have been a year and more in IM. Until now no single penny I got, but I am not and will not give up. May be one day I will find the way to success. Who knows, the live is mystery.
    Good luck to you

Sometimes you need to sit back and think again.

    Think what you’ve done.

Then look at what other more successful people are doing.

I like to compare myself to Frank Kern. I always ask myself, if this funny looking dude can do it — so can I.

Although I’m no way as successful as Frank is, I believe one day I will be there. Maybe living in La Jolla too. :)

@Gavin What kind of opportunity? Meet up? XD

I personally don’t like relying others. Maybe I should revise and think back again. This is not kindergarten work isn’t it? I should use my professional in this.
But it’ll be cool if there’s someone who can briefly tell me what should I do. Very generally, without detail.
I should think of the details myself.

    Desmond,

Dude – Awesome video. Have you seen the movie?
The movie is called “Facing The Giants” – its a faith based Christian movie produced by a church with only VOLUNTEERS! None of them are paid actors.

In the movie they have to face a bigger, faster and stronger team called the “Giants” hence the name. But the moral is about defeating the giant within. That is FEAR.

Fear of commitment, fear of giving it your all, fear of failure – fear of the economy. In my experience it is FEAR that precludes most wanabee internet marketers from succeeding. They “say” they are doing everything they need to but they’re simply not. If they were.. then they’d see positive results.

When fear takes over you point the blame finger at any number of things. This is because it takes COURAGE to point it at yourself. Success online is no different than success at any other worthwhile endeavor. Success is Success the only variable is YOU. Period.

My 2 cents: Stop complaining about the lack of a coach or the lack of this or that… wha wha wha. Pick your head up, stand tall, make the decision to succeed, FACE YOUR GIANT and just make it happen.

    To Your Success,
    Omar Martin

I watched this movie before but had no idea it’s a volunteer movie.

This is a David VS Goliath story.

You have to believe nothing is impossible. And you have to believe fear isn’t an obstacle.

That way, you will run through all the obstacle for ultimate success.

PS: Gosh I sound like a self-improvement expert now. :-p

Very true – and while we are on the subject I hope that you allow me to post this here. THIS IS TRUE – IT IS NOT A MOVIE WITH ACTORS LIKE THE ONE ABOVE.
