Yeah 1% is just an example but look on the flip side:

Most $1,997 stuff are probably gurus’ stuff. These gurus spend tens of thousands of dollars to craft a cool sales copy. So, 1% is really not really over optimistic.

That is true but 1 sale of $1,997 equal to 10 sales of $97.

You’re making up the conversion rate. What if the conversion rate for the $1997 product is 0.1% ? Setting 1% as the probable conversion rate on a $1997 product is being overly optimistic.

Interesting video.

I also agree on that you should promote high paying affiliates, but the problem is that affiliate products that have a high price tag will be bought less then affiliate products that are cheap.
