Last week, I got to know Dylan Loh and picked a little bit of his brain.

If you don’t know Dylan Loh, you’re missing out because this guy is totally cool.

Me and Dylan has a lot of similarities. He is in university — so am I. He lives in Singapore. I live in Malaysia (about 6 hours away from Singapore). He has a dog. I don’t have a dog. He wears chunky glasses. I wear contact lens. Okay, maybe we’re not so similar after all.

Anyway, some of my subscribers decided to take the opportunity to ask Dylan some questions through me — which I directed to Dylan right away. And here’s the interview. Enjoy.

Do you mind introducing yourself? Where are you from? And what is your internet marketing expertise?

Hello, my name is Dylan and I count product creation, article marketing & niche marketing as my strengths. I won’t say I’m the best there is out there but I think I’m not too bad myself!

If I am to build a list overnight, how would you recommend me to do so?

Firstly, I wouldn’t recommend building a list ‘overnight’. You can’t really achieve much  trying to build something ‘overnight’ unless you do something drastic like spend a lot of money (on Adwords for instance). If you want to build your list QUICKLY then, I suggest you do adswaps, I’ve been doing adswaps for a very long time and it has been every effective for either till today. Say you’ve only a list of 400, you can easily swap with other people with 400-sized list or similar sized lists. If you can line up 4 or 5 a month (super easy to do!) you can build your list very quickly!

Bum marketing vs PPC. What’s your take?

I’m not really a PPC expert per se so I would prefer bum marketing especially to newbies if they don’t have any capital to begin with. Start with bum marketing – the biggest advantage it that it is free!

Hey Desmond, can you ask Dylan how did he manage to build a big internet marketing based list?

Simple – by launching products! There is no better way to build a big internet marketing based lists by launching a product and getting people to send you their leads and customers. Other people are building their lists for you! How to promote someone else’s product launch and make big money with it?

This seems to tie in with the previous question. I usually, at least in the IM niche, promote through my lists but do I pre-sell pages for other niches.

Product creation vs affiliate marketing. Which do you think is better and why?

I won’t say one is better then the other because both makes money and both go hand in hand! If you want to create a product and get people to promote your product, you have to first promote their products (by being their affiliate) and getting their attention. Of course, like what I mentioned earlier, having your own product is the best because you are getting other people to build YOUR business.

What is the best way to launch a ClickBank product?

There is no ‘one best way’. You should build relationships with people in your niche, either by just talking to them, promoting their products or offering them some help. Build relationships, help other people and when the time comes, people will help you. It would be good to get involved in JV communities as it will help as well.

What is the best way to get affiliates to promote my ClickBank product?

One way is to ensure you pay maximum to your affiliates and that they make good money promoting you. Pay the maximum 75% whenever possible, make sure you’ve good promo tools (not just email solos) and that your sales funnel (upsell, downsells etc) are in place.

Do you use your list to promote most of the product launches? If yes, how do you write your email copy?

Yes I do. I guess writing email copy is too big a topic here and is covered extensively in project covert persuasion BUT what I would say is that you need to be able to bring out why your list need the product in your email copy…more importantly, why they need to get it NOW!
