How I Make $20/day through Bum Marketing Doing Almost Nothing
Bum marketing was kind of popular in the last few months and I decided to try it to see if I could make some money out of it. I did but it was a tough job and something I don’t like doing. So I quit but in this post, I will explain how I made $20 a day doing almost nothing.
Like the title said, I managed to rake in $20 a day through bum marketing, which some of the people I know managed to made over $3,000 a month. Well, I think $600 a month isn’t too shabby especially when I almost don’t have to do anything.

A lot of other marketers’ basic method is to:
- Write good articles.
- Submit them to article directories.
- Sign up with affiliate programs and mask the URL.
- Put the affiliate link in the article.
Sounds easy right? Not for me at least.
Writing articles are hell of a work for me considering my native language is not English. To make things worse, I have blogs that I need to update consistently.
But since I’m determined to try this method, I managed to hire some guys to write articles for me. I found most of them in DigitalPoint forums and paid them $7, $5 or $3 depending on the quality of the articles and the quantity of words.
For a whole month, I hired about 12 ghostwriters and paid out about $80 to $100 for the whole month. But since I am earning about $600, I managed to pull in $500 in pure profits. Not too shabby huh?
I like to focus on topics like:
- Health
- Internet business
- and sometimes a bit of things related to technologies
Well, I chose those topics mainly because these are the topics that people are searching for. You can find out what the Internet is buzzing about and write articles around that.
The main thing here is to outsource but let me tell you that this is risky. I used a combinations of pay-per-sale affiliates and CPA programs.
Due to its high-risk (I may not able to convert my articles readers to click on my links), I decided to neglect this method.
However, for those who can write awesome articles, this is the method for you to make money online.

Interesting method… But then again article writing is so time-consuming! I’ll look for bulk article writers and if I find a good deal, I’d try this thing you’re saying here.
Thanks for the great post Desmond.

Lucas - True. That’s why I hired lots of ghostwriters to write for me. I’m a hell bad writer. Just check out some of my blog posts and you will know.
Sometimes, it’s wise to outsource.
Let the pros do the jobs.
This sounds like a pretty good idea, and making $20 a day without actually advertising (I assumed you just put them up on article directories) is decent enough! Good work! May have to try that one out, obviously outsourcing though
Dan - Thanks. You should try it out if you think it’s worth it. Not for me. Too high risk.
I consider myself a decent writer but like someone mentioned, it would take me a while with everything going on - school, blog, my side projects. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to experiment with this when I have more free time during my time off. Good post!
Enkay Blog - Thanks bro. Glad that you like it.
So what article directories do you submit to? And how many do you actually submit to? I’m curious…

AnotherMMOblog - Some of the basic ones like EzineArticles and ArticleCity. But I normally have my ghostwriters to submit them for me and those articles normally reach around 5 to 8 article directories.
I’m a lazy bastard.
It seems like if you master the ending part of this whole process where you get your readers to convert, you could really make quite a bit.
Thanks for the tip. Let’s see how my writing skills will do me on this one.
