Most of you know that there are some “a-holes” who are posting some stupid comments on everyone’s blog to generate backlinks for them.
And I especially despise these comments. So, right now I am going to have my own commenting rules for this blog:
- Your name MUST include your real name with preferably a last name. For example, you must use “Desmond Ong” or “Jessica Alba”. If you use names like “Jessica”, “Teeth Whitening Solution”, “Blogging Tricks”, “A-Hole Inc.” — I will, with no mercy delete your comments. I might even send your comment to spam box and ban your IP address. Please don’t make me do that.
- The comments must refer to anything I said in the post. If you comment something like “Hey, how are you”, “nice post!”, “You’re a great blogger”, “How to subscribe to your feed?” or “I love your blog” — I will ban your IP address.
As most of you know, I don’t intend to make money from this blog. So, I want to keep this blog pure and awesome — the way I am.

Demanding a first name is fine, I do it too, but demanding a last name also?
Also you may wish to rethink the IP ban as you will be baning perhaps several hundred each time.

@ Dennis Edell – Previously I received a lot of comments with first name but linked back to some suspicious sites.
This is for the quality of this blog’s purposes.
Yeah I agree with the IP ban but I used to be getting the same spam comments that got through Akismet from one same IP that totally pissed me off.

I understand, but it’s going to seriously lower your comment count. Even I have been thinking of switching to Dennis@somekeyword. lol
